Technical Learning Profiles (TLP)
A Technical Learning Profile (TLP) is an online objective skills assessment that can be administered either before and/or after a customer's IT professionals attend training courses.
The TLP helps to identify current skill levels of IT professionals. It is not a tool to measure job performance. Each TLP assessment does help to identify training opportunities to augment the professional development of employees. Additionally, a TLP can assist in preparations for certifications as the roles are structured around standard training and certification paths.
TLP Objective Assessment
A TLP objective assessment asks team members questions about specific skills and tasks for a job role. Between 40 and 75 multiple-choice and multiple-response questions are used in each assessment role. For example, employees completing a TLP objective assessment for a Solaris 9 System Administrator job profile may be asked to identify the Boot PROM command used to initiate a reconfigure boot.
TLP objective assessments are available in both pre- and post-training formats for the following assessment roles. The post-training format of each assessment role assesses the same course/s and learning objectives as the pre-training format.
